C#m

G#m  B  E

E          F#m           G#m

That’s me, playing my bassoon

     A           G#m     A       B

In a rocket-ship heading for the moon

C#              F#

Standing in my coverall

     B               F#

This was my dream, I do recall

   Gdim              G#m

I never thought this day would come

                               Bbm

Well, the dream came true, and then some

    E              F#m     A

And now it seems I will be gone

A.                 F#m              B

I’m going past the moon, and on and on!

E           F#m            G#m

Stirring my beverage with a spoon

      A          G#m      A      B

In a rocket-ship heading for the moon

C#

But the moon i’ll never touch

B

Now I know as much

F#

However much they thought to do

Bbm                   G#m

However beautiful and new

             E              F#m        A

I've looked everywhere, for goodness’ sake

        A           F#m            B

I just realised the rocket has no brakes!

Instrumentalt (INTRO)

E.                  F#m    G#m

Looking through the window now

A              G#m      B

Feeling rather calm somehow

C#

Pondering the moonday breeze

B

On streams of milk and hills of cheese

F#

But, alas, I cannot stay

Bbm                   G#m

Shortly I must make my way

E                F#m          A

Beyond the moon, beyond the stars

A                   F#m         E

Unless I happen to crash violently

A                F#m.    B

Or perhaps quite silently

B                           E

into some other plane, like Mars
